Arlen Specter

There is continued anger over Specter's comments about President Bush. He made comments earlier warning President Bush about the unlikelihood of pro-life justices making it past the Senate Judiciary Committee (which Specter hopes to head). He tried to back off his statements later, claiming that it was not really a 'warning,' yet the Times and other papers mention that many republicans are not satisfied with his explanation.

This has many republicans particularly annoyed, since President Bush campaigned with Specter, helping him get elected...yet Specter's election was not able to help President Bush take Pennsylvania (Specter's home state).
